COOKIE POLICY

The sites available at the following addresses: https://www.govirtuo.com/ and https://business.govirtuo.com/ (hereinafter the Site) and the Virtuo Application (hereinafter the Application), are the property of Virtuo Technologies, a simplified joint-stock company with capital of EUR 447 535.56, registered in the Paris business and companies register under number 813 197 589 with headquarters at 7 rue Jacques Bingen, 75017 Paris, France (hereinafter Virtuo).

Virtuo is particularly attentive to providing you with the best possible service and would like to continue the relationship of trust that you have with us.

Virtuo is committed to processing your data in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016, known as GDPR, relating to the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, French Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, as amended, relating to information technology, files and freedoms, known as the Informatics and Freedoms law, the German data protection act, known as Bundesdatenschutzgesetz and the German telecommunications and telemedia data protection act, known as Telekommunikation-Telemedien-Datenschutzgesetz (TTDSG), which define the conditions under which the processing of personal data may be implemented.

This is why we want to provide you with transparent information regarding how we place, use and store cookies and other trackers on your device when you use the Site and/or the Application.

This cookie policy will also explain what cookies are, and will present the options that you have to manage or delete them.

1. What is a cookie or a tracker?

Cookies and other trackers are small text files, images or programs that are placed and stored on your device when you access our Site and/or our Application. The word “device”, when used in the present cookie policy, denotes computers, smartphones, tablets and any other device used to access the Site and/or the Application.

Cookies and other trackers are used for the function of the sites and applications and improve their ease of use.

Each cookie or other tracker is assigned an anonymous identifier. A cookie or tracker does not enable connection to a private individual. Only the issuer of a cookie or tracker can read or modify the information it contains.

Cookies and other trackers may have several functions, in particular, enabling:

−       you to log in and be verified on our Site and/or our Application to provide you with services that you have requested;

−       improvement of security of the Site and/or the Application including the prevention of fraudulent usage of logins and the protection of user data from access by unauthorised third parties;

−       monitoring of your patterns of use on our Site and/or our Application in order to improve them;

−       improvement of your user experience by adapting content on our Site and/or our Application to your areas of interest by offering you more relevant advertisements and content;

−       remembering information that you have provided (for example to automatically fill in forms with information that you have previously provided for you to log in more quickly).

During use of the Site and/or the Application, you are informed that cookies or other methods of recording browsing data are used by the Site and/or by the Application or third parties, service providers for the Site and/or the Application and are placed on your device.

Following recommendations of the French National Commission for Data Protection and Liberties, you will be specifically asked whether you wish to accept cookies on your first connection to the Site.

2. Which types of cookies or trackers do we use?

The cookies and trackers that we use on our Site and/or our Application are classed in different categories.

2.2. Functional cookies and trackers

These cookies and trackers guarantee the proper function of the Site and/or the Application and enable their optimisation. They allow you to browse the Site and/or the Application and to use their functions and services. The Site and/or the Application cannot function correctly without these cookies and trackers, which is why you cannot reject them without affecting the function of our Site and/or our Application.

Certain cookies and trackers are also used for the display and calculation of contextual, non-personalised advertising. You can block or reject these by adjusting your browser settings.

Functional cookies and trackers include, for example, cookies that collect session identifiers and identification data.  They also include cookies that enable us to comply with legal obligations, in particular by ensuring a secure online environment (for example by detecting repeated failed login attempts to prevent unauthorised access to your account).

2.3. Analytic cookies and trackers

These cookies and trackers collect information that is used in an aggregated form to help us to understand how visitors use our Site and/or our Application. These tools collect information and generate reports on usage statistics for the site and/or the Application without individual users having to be identified personally.

These cookies and trackers also allow measurement of the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. They help us to personalise our site and subscription to improve your experience.

These cookies and trackers allow us to recognise and measure the number of visitors on our Site and/or our Application as well as to analyse the way in which visitors browse the Site and/or the Application. This enables improvement of the way in which the Site and/or Application function by ensuring for example that it is easy for visitors to find what they want.

2.4. Marketing personalisation cookies and trackers

These cookies and trackers are used to make advertising messages more relevant according to your interests. They also prevent the same advertisement from being displayed several times, allow advertisements to be displayed correctly, and in certain cases to select advertisements according to your areas of interest.

We may also share this information with partners by use of third-party cookies and trackers. This information will be used by these partners for the purposes of online advertising, in particular, to measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign, to limit the display frequency (to limit the number of times that you see an advertisement), affiliate marketing, click fraud detection, market research, product improvement, debugging or any other reason.

3. Who puts cookies and trackers on your device?

When you select cookies and trackers that you authorise on your device, these may be placed by us or by a third party. These cookies and trackers are usually linked to analytical functions.

From a practical standpoint, this means that when you authorise the installation of third-party cookies and trackers on your device, the relevant third parties can access a certain amount of information concerning you (for example your browsing statistics when you authorise third-party analytics cookies).

We may place cookies and trackers on your devices, but they may also be placed directly by third parties when you use our Site and/or our Application to allow third parties to:

−       provide us with a service that enables us to optimise the function of our Site and/or our Application;

−       enable you to access third-party content.

Given that we do not have control over the use of these cookies and trackers by third parties, we have created a list of our partners below with a link to their cookie policies.

If you would like further information regarding these third-party cookies and trackers and the way in which you can configure them, we recommend you visit the websites of these partners and familiarise yourself with their cookie policies.

4. What type of information can be stored in a cookie or tracker?

The information stored by cookies and trackers left on your device can relate to the following elements, limited by their storage duration:

−       websites that you have visited using this device;

−       the advertisements that you have clicked on;

−       the type of browser that you use;

−       your IP address; and

−       any other information that you have provided on our website (searches carried out, etc.)

Cookies and trackers may contain data of a personal nature. When we use cookies and trackers that collect your personal data, this processing is covered by our Privacy Policy.

5. How long are cookies and trackers stored for?

In accordance with the recommendations of the French National Commission for Data Protection and Liberties, the maximum duration for storage of cookies and other trackers is a maximum of thirteen (13) months from their initial placement on the user’s device, as well as the duration of validity of the user’s consent for the use of these cookies and other trackers.

The lifespan of cookies and trackers is not extended each visit. Your consent must be renewed beyond this timeframe.

6. How can I manage cookies and trackers?

When you first browse the Site, an explanatory banner appears regarding the use of cookies. This lets you activate or deactivate certain cookies. It will only disappear when you have accepted or rejected the use of cookies to continue browsing.

The use of a cookie or tracker remains your decision. In accordance with legislative and regulatory dispositions, Virtuo elicits your consent prior to using cookies through the Site.

You can manage the way in which we use cookies and trackers on our Site:

−       by changing your cookie preferences, by going to the Cookie Settings page on our Site;

−       by configuring the security settings on your internet browser;

−       by reviewing our partners’ websites: this will let you manage your choice on sites that are not managed by Virtuo.

Please note that the use of cookies and trackers that are strictly necessary for the proper function of the Site and or the Application does not require your consent. This is why the option “Functional Cookies” is selected by default in our cookie settings tool and cannot be removed.

It is also important to note that by rejecting certain types of cookies (for example functional cookies), you prevent us from optimising your user experience on our Site and/or our Application and certain parts may not function correctly.

6.2. Managing your preferences on our Site

You can give or retract your consent to the use of certain types of cookies and trackers at any moment as described in this cookie policy via our cookie settings tool.

6.3. Managing your preferences via your browser settings

You have the option to reject cookies at any moment, in full or in part, by configuring your internet browser. The configuration also offers the option to accept or reject cookies in a timely manner following their placement on your device.
